The influence of work competency and transformational leadership towards work satisfaction and its implication to workers performance



The purpose of this article is to provide an analysis of the influence of work competency and transformational leadership toward work satisfaction and its implication on workers performance. The article is on the basis of an empirical study involving staff at Health Polytechnic College of Tanjungkarang, Lampung Province, Indonesia (N= 260). Results of data analysis using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) with Lisrel 8.70 shows that work competency variable and transformational leadership influence work satisfaction. These two variables have also simultaneously influence toward worker performance. More particularly, the result indicates that staff performance is very determined by work satisfaction, while work satisfaction itself is also influenced by transformational leadership.
