This study aims at analyzing responsibility of employment and classify each the region in South Sumatera. The method to analyze responsibility is employment elasticity and to classify the region use Klassen Typology Analysis. According to the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistic (BPS), South Sumatera's Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) has steadily increased with grow 6.01 percent. The main contributors to PDRB in 2012 were transport and communication, trade, restaurant and hotel and finance, leasing and services. South Sumatera has contribution 2,9 percent in national economy. The result of this research shows that from 15 regency/city in South Sumatera only 2 region of high growth and high income. 8 region of high growth but low income, 3 low growth but high income and 2 low growth and low income. South Sumatera Province has overcome employment and the results of elasticity analysis showed that the increased 1 percent of economic growth, the employment increase 0.47 percent.
